ABOUT US
Our family-owned business was started by my Dad, Lyle Grosskreutz, back in 1993. Growing up on a dairy farm, I continued the tradition by running my own farm and milking 50 cows.
Although I loved farming, in 2000, after 20 years in the dairy industry, my wife Brenda and I decided to sell our cows and farmhouse and joined my dad in the business. I have been around agriculture my entire life and felt this career change would still give me the opportunity to be involved with the Agricultural community. We built a new house with an attached office on the same land that we once farmed.
Our business has focused on Crop Insurance, but now our son Skip has been writing other types of insurance including farm, auto, excess and workman’s compensation. He also writes homeowners with Luck Mutual and Auto, Motorcycle, Boat, and ATV with Progressive Drive Insurance.
Skip has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin - River Falls in Agricultural Engineering. We were delighted when he told us he wanted to join our family business. He was married in September 2009 to Kelly Evenson. They had their first baby, Mason Lyle, on August 5th, 2010. We continue to keep our hands in farming by running some corn and beans.
Brenda has her associate degree in accounting and works part-time for a large grain farm in Baldwin. She does all of our accounting and helps with data entry, taxes, newsletters, and other miscellaneous duties required in order to run a small business.
Our daughter, Malerie, graduated with her bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Eau Claire. She was married to Scott Veenendall in August 2008 and works as an RN at Regions Hospital and for a group home agency.
